Charmed

7/14/24

My love and I just finished watching the first episode of Charmed titled 'Something Wicca This Way Comes' as a tribute to the late Shannen Doherty who played the eldest sister named Prudence Halliwell.

This morning, both of my sisters texted me to share the news about Shannen's passing. I wasn't aware of her transition to the Unseen until my middle sister's text. Tears are still drying on my cheeks as I type this.

Charmed has been an instrumental Force in my life as I detail in my chat with Niish at The Cosmic Salon.

My life has many similarities with the Halliwell family. I'm one of three children and our mother passed away when I was thirteen years old. I'm the youngest so my Psychism skills mirror Phoebe Halliwell's premonition power. The Unseen and Psychism was always an undercurrent within my immediate and extended family. My aunts would always discuss their interests with the Unseen worlds along with many paranormal experiences shared by my cousins.

Charmed helped me navigate losing my mother at such a young age. I gravitated toward Charmed as a tool for grieving. As I got older, this show and this family mirrored my life deeper especially once I realized my skills.

Summers off from school as Charmed played on TNT every morning. After school viewing of Charmed on TNT. It wasn't until season 4 when I would watch Charmed regularly as I was only 7 when Charmed premiered in October 1998. Then Charmed would end its run in 2006 when I was a junior in high school.

The magick and the Sacred Intuitive Arts.

I made it a tradition to watch an episode of Charmed on my birthday every year so today's viewing of the first episode and the notice of Shannen's passing came three days before my 33rd birthday.

I bought every season of Charmed when the DVD box sets were released. I still remember the 5th season's DVD box set being released on 6/6/06 along with purchasing the first season's set at my neighborhood Coconuts which then became FYE before it's eventual closing.

Let me tell you...I watched and would watch these DVDs over and over again. Now I just stream them on Peacock, but Peacock removed the opening theme song of "How Soon Is Now". That cover is also featured in The Craft.

Charmed was a perfect illustration of the Power of the Sacred Intuitive Arts and our innate gifts of being a part of the human species.

Charmed honored the Premonition Power as a great value and the characters respected the Omen. None of the New Age Delusion and Fantasy Role Play plaguing the internet. None of the abysmal representation of the Sacred Intuitive Arts in the flaccid portrayal of the Intuitive Instrument housed in the human species.

Charmed was and will always be a Force in my life and a reminder of my journey's origination throughout this incarnation.

Thank you, Shannen.
